Happy Birthday My Darling Mr. B

Husband, Happy Birthday! Today you are *insert guessed age here*! You are an incredible man, and every day I grow to love you more and more. I'm so happy to be your wife and to share 3 past birthdays with you by your side and am excited that we have so many more birthdays left to share together. I admire you and love you. Remember continually how wonderful you really are, remember how much you really are worth, and remember you can do anything you want to do.

My heart for you will never break. My smile for you will never fade. My love for you will never end. I love you.

And if you ever forget why I love you, feel free to look back on the list I made last year, that now would have doubled in size.

Your loving wife - *pinky*

Douglas' Job

His job site was on the news, how exciting, all the tall yellow things you see are his drill rigs, the big drill you see at first are the pre-drillers and then the yellow rigs actually mix the soil with the concrete making it a super strong underground wall, so for all you folk asking me what my husband does?

Hot Drink Cool Mornings

I love how on my drive into work every morning at a certain spot I drive around the bend and there it is, the amazing pinkish orange sun rising. It is amazingly beautiful. I love how when I get to work there are an assortment of warm drinks to get and keep me going. Dark Hot Cocoa, Milk Hot Cocoa, and teas of all sorts (peppermint, chamomille, orange, apple cinnamon, lemon, ginger twist) the Ginger Twist is my absolute favorite, I wish it came in it's own box... Lipton are you listening?

Today was a slow yet busy day? If that makes any sense. I worked it was nice a little hectic but not too hectic to drive you out of your mind. I left early to get my hair done, I like it, it's only a half shade darker than before but it's nice. (I'll post a picture when it's actually done the way I like to do it). It only took 2 hours to do... {I really think it's time for me to buy a new keyboard, or maybe this one just need batteries} Then I picked up Snow White from work and we went to Wal-Mart where I could price some contacts and buy my hubby *so the cat doesn't kill me* pills with FSA that I really need to spend before year end. We went and got Mini Meals and I went home.

I was so stressed about coming home *gah* my cousin is staying with us for the next few days and I love having him, but I needed to blow up the air mattress, vacuum, dishes, clean his bathroom, take out the trash (how can two people accumulate so much trash anyway?), etc.

*Sweet Morsel* I came home to the bed blown up and taken upstairs and the dishes done. And hubs having a great willingness to help me even though he had a long day as well.

Football and Donations

Today was church. It was nice. My man looks so amazing when he shaves and puts on a suit, it's not really him though but when Sunday comes around I enjoy staring at him. Once church was over and we headed home I was excited for the day to begin.

  1. We were getting rid of the bunk/futon thing in the upstairs room that our landlord 'kindly donated' to us. We gave it to our good friend for his sons to use when they visit him. Now the task is figuring out what to do in the room.
  2. We watched football. I love watching football. It was a good game although it was annoying - not just because we lost but a couple calls should have been overturned.
I made homemade french dips for dinner although I need to adjust the recipe for a little more flavor they were still pretty good. The meat was nice and tender, the au jus just needs a little work. I got to sit in hubbys chair, it is nice and cozy, for hours on end (well just during the game). When our dinner guest left I went upstairs changed into my PJs and brought down my book so that I could finish reading it, I sat it on the couch so I could pick it up on my way back to the recliner from putting away the leftovers. Hubby came down and sat back on the couch and I sat in the chair. I asked him something (can't remember what) and he mentioned the he was still sitting in my spot on the couch was because he saw the book there he figured I was going to sit on the couch and he wanted to sit by me. I love him. I stayed in the recliner until I went to bed. But how sweet of him.

Sweet Morsel: Wanting to spend time next to me, oh and thanking me for dinner.

Rearrangement

I finally did it. It wasn't much but I rearranged my two living rooms and now I'm a much happier person, with a less cluttered feel. I swapped the position of the couch and recliner, moved a end table to another room, donated the fake 8' ficus (spider homes and dust collector) to a neighbor who wanted it, moved the piano and cello, swept, dishes, vacuumed, and watched lots of DVRed shows while doing it. It felt great.

(Now I just need to rearrange my life and my habits to feel uncluttered and alive. I'll go into details maybe later)

Hubs came home and didn't know if he should finish walking in or not, but he seems to like it better as well. Then we ate dinner (Pizza, pepperoni plain. Do you know how long it has been since we last had a normal pepperoni pizza?) and watched a show for 6 hours that I can't tell you what show as hubs might kill me, but it was nice. I love spending time with him in a clean home.

Sweet Morsel: Hubs went into work a few hours late so we could cuddle in the morning - this never happens. It was nice.

Calm Nothings

Today was pretty simple; get up, go to work, come home, read, watch tv, go to bed. What made it a spectacular day was having the chance to come home to Hubs. It very rarely happens as he works long days 6 days a week. But it was nice to come home to laundry being folded and put away, a hug that made all the stresses of the day go away, and someone to just be me with. I throughly enjoyed the nothingness that made up today.

Work was a mess, as it usually is on Mondays, but it was more of a mess today - silly people. The ride home was extremely long due to the fact that people here in Nor Cal can't seem to remember how to drive in rain.

(That's really a vicious cycle here, it rains people have to figure out how to drive in it, they do well for a couple of months then it stops raining for the majority of the year giving those people a change to forget what it was like when it rained, all to learn it again in the fall. Leaving us who grew up in the rain giving the angry old man fist to those that have that memory lapse.)

Dinner was leftover lasagna and then it was Desperate Housewives (this season really needs to pick up the pace) and Little Big Planet with hubs. Then it was bed time. I wasn't feeling well but this was remedied by the strong arms that would hug and hold me each time I found my way back to the bed.

I love my husband and the little things that make my day a better day.

Silly Little Things

Hubs makes me laugh. Here are a couple examples of why:

1. I have chap stick in our 72 hour kits and he stole his book bag to use when he travels by motorcycle, so I replaced it with another one and the other day he says, "Babe, remind me I need to put the lip gloss in the other backpack." I was like lip gloss? Are you sure you have lip gloss? He got all serious, "You know what I mean the stuff men wear on their lips." "Well I know some men that wear lip gloss, it's okay if you do don't be ashamed", I said. He didn't say anything but every now and then I'll need some chap stick and I'll ask if he has hip lip gloss handy for me to use. It cracks me up every time.

construction worker + lip gloss = hilarity

2. On the way home from the 49ers vs. Eagles game after we had dropped Matt off we were riding in silence, you have to understand that this happens a lot. My husband isn't the biggest talker I know. So I'm looking out the window just thinking, my actual thought was, *I wonder how people ate leftovers before microwaves, how did they heat it up?* This thought was interrupted by my husband singing, "Boop Boopy Do" as soon as I looked at him and started laughing he stopped so we never got the last "boop" outta him, but it was humorous.

♥ Blessings are every where in our lives every day there are little things that mean a lot and sometimes we don't even notice them until we look back on the day. Memories and stories, arguments and tears - all bring blessings into our lives in one way or another. I do this blog so I can remember those moments and find the blessings that were once hidden in a normal sometime meaningless gesture ♥

if we pay close attention we will come to realize that no day is the same as another as every morning brings with it a hidden blessing - a sweet morsel to cherish
